Job Description for Actuary IV

Conducts analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Develops probability tables regarding fire, natural disasters, death, unemployment, etc. based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Incumbents have achieved an Associate, Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation and may be pursuing a Fellow, Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
