Architect V is responsible for overseeing and planning large and complex architectural projects. Selects, evaluates, and implements architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects. Being an Architect V has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts. Supervises and guides the work of lower-level architects. Additionally, Architect V requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Requires a State Architect's License. Typically reports to a manager. The Architect V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be an Architect V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
