Job Description for Vascular Sonographer

Vascular Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Being a Vascular Sonographer may perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. Additionally, Vascular Sonographer may require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Vascular Sonographer's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.
