Job Description

The IS Security Manager manages IS security analysts to ensure that all applications are functional and secure. Responsible for developing and managing Information Systems cyber security, including disaster recovery, database protection and software development. Being an IS Security Manager implements procedures and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance to information security standards. Develops and delivers IS security standards, best practices, architecture and systems to ensure information system security across the enterprise. In addition, IS Security Manager migrates non-compliant environments to compliant environments. Evaluates the organization to ensure compliance with standards and relevance with industry security norms. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The IS Security Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as an IS Security Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
