Oversees work in the magnetic resonance department, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of MRIs. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for services. Recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of MRI Technologist as needed. May require a bachelor's degree in an area of specialty, registration as a technologist by the A.R.R.T., and at least 4 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or director.
