Operates and monitors computer equipment. Performs routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals. Loads peripheral equipment such as tapes and printer paper for operating runs. Observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on monitor of terminal to detect faulty output or machine stoppage. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent and at least 5 years of experience as a computer operator. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to an project lead or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
