Job Description for Group Underwriting Manager

Manages and leads a group of underwriting staff. Manages insurance underwriting program for groups. Determines the appropriate group rate plan by utilizing the company's claims history. Provides decisions and recommendations on complex cases. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
