Audits the accounting and financial data of various departments within an organization to ensure accuracy and compliance with government guidelines and laws. Identifies improper accounting or documentation and researches issues and makes recommendations to improve policies or procedures accordingly. Works with outside auditors to help reconcile discrepancies or support the external auditing function. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report to an executive or a manager.
