Job Description for Logistics Director

Directs and oversees operations within the organization's logistics department, including the transportation and storage of goods, vendor selection and negotiation, distribution, and inventory control. Develops logistics plans and procedures to ensure that internal and client needs are met. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 10 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies of extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
