Responsible for identifying prospective major gift donors for a college or university. Qualifies, contacts, and cultivates potential new donors from prospect pool of alumni, friends, and family members of the academic institution. Reviews the prospect pool and develops relationships by submitting proposals to prospective donors. May require a bachelor's degree and at least 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
