Job Description for Merchandiser

Works within a retail environment to effectively merchandise products by applying appropriate store-wide and/or corporate-wide standards. Works closely with store sales staff with regard to shelf maintenance and trains staff on appropriate merchandising standards. Often responsible for promotional signage. May oversee one store or a group of area stores. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
