Ensures the staff performs project research, design calculations, and records accuracy of mining activities. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. May require certification by the MSHA. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Leads and directs the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
