Job Description for Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare

Ensures that patients' insurance covers their treatments. Reviews appropriateness of CPT-4/ICD-9 coding and determines if care provided corresponds to the charges submitted. May assist in identifying fraudulent non-plan billing practices and assists the legal department with litigation preparation. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
