Directs an organization's overall supply chain operations, including purchasing and inventory of raw materials, selection of vendors, and distribution of finished goods. Evaluates past performance data to forecast needs and production levels. Develops strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Ensures that issues regarding new/existing products are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
