Establishes strategic direction, policies, and procedures for the organization's clinical information systems with the goal of improving clinical operations. Guides the selection, development, and/or implementation of systems designed to effectively manage medical information and meet the needs of patient care staff. Coordinates between IT and clinical staff in order to ensure effective integration of clinical systems with other institutional applications. Requires an advanced degree and at least 12 years of direct experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
