Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Being an Actuary II develops probability tables regarding fire, natural disasters, death, unemployment, etc. based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information. Incumbents typically pursuing an Associate, Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation. Additionally, Actuary II requires a bachelor's degree of accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. The Actuary II gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
