Job Description

The Accounting Assistant II reviews, codes and verifies transactions and journal entries. Performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Being an Accounting Assistant II reconciles accounts and bank statements. Completes moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. In addition, Accounting Assistant II may also process accounts payable and receivable transactions. Has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being an Accounting Assistant II works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as an Accounting Assistant II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
