Assembles fabricated parts to relatively small or light subassemblies and complete units. Tests, calibrates, and fits parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Uses hand tools and small power tools. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require completion of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
