The Radiation Therapist II maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. Administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. Being a Radiation Therapist II may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed. In addition, Radiation Therapist II typically requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Being a Radiation Therapist II work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
