Job Description

The Demand Planning Manager analyzes historical sales, pricing, demand data, market trends, and other statistical metrics to prepare inventory requirement forecasts. Manages the development of inventory replenishment models and forecasts to make purchasing decisions to ensure optimal inventory and stock levels meet customer demand. Being a Demand Planning Manager continuously monitors sales, inventory, and buying trends and adjusts stock levels to meet demand. Creates a buying plan and recommends order qualities and pricing to guide inventory replenishment and new purchasing. In addition, Demand Planning Manager maintains data and analytics to refine forecasts, generate reporting and improve replenishment processes. Works with vendors and buyers to facilitate ordering, pricing, and inventory deliveries. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Demand Planning Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Demand Planning Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
