The Community Health Advocate recommends community health initiatives, policy implications and best practices after reviewing health literature and statistics. Responsible for developing plans for community-based health programs aimed at the prevention of disease and promotion of health. Being a Community Health Advocate manages specific community health programs from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. Identifies community health program related grant funding and develops grant proposals. In addition, Community Health Advocate requires a master's degree in a related area. Typically reports to top management. The Community Health Advocate manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Working as a Community Health Advocate typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
