The IT Acquisitions Manager evaluates and identifies the needs of the organization and stakeholders. Leads and manages all phases of the IT procurement function. Being an IT Acquisitions Manager researches suppliers and directs the sourcing process. Defines clear and specific requirements for equipment and services. In addition, IT Acquisitions Manager negotiates contracts, pricing, terms, and service level agreements. Establishes standards and policies for efficient and fair procurement practices. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The IT Acquisitions Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as an IT Acquisitions Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
