The Light Parts/Components Assembler I tests, calibrates, and fits parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Assembles fabricated parts to relatively small or light subassemblies and complete units. Being a Light Parts/Components Assembler I uses hand tools and small power tools. Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. In addition, Light Parts/Components Assembler I requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require completion of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Being a Light Parts/Components Assembler I possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
