Job Description

The Volunteer Programs Supervisor leads the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Supervises and leads the daily undertakings of a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Being a Volunteer Programs Supervisor motivates and inspires volunteers to encourage teamwork. Responsible for training and educating volunteers. In addition, Volunteer Programs Supervisor evaluates and reviews volunteer schedules and makes adjustments as necessary. Ensures that the activities of the volunteer workers meet the needs of the organization. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Volunteer Programs Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Working as a Volunteer Programs Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
