Job Description

The Human Factors/UI Design Director oversees the development of the overall design philosophy for improving the workflow, functionality, and visual appeal of the organization's online presence. Directs a department of UI designers who apply user-centered design principles to improve the workflow, expand the functionality, and enhance the visual appeal of websites and mobile apps. Being a Human Factors/UI Design Director ensures UI design projects align with and support broader organizational initiatives and direction. Establishes new projects and initiatives, ensures requirements are gathered from users and stakeholders, and oversees projects at a high level. In addition, Human Factors/UI Design Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Human Factors/UI Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Working as a Human Factors/UI Design Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
