Job Description

The Fire Inspector/Investigator prepares reports and issues violation documents and defines remedies. Conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Being a Fire Inspector/Investigator knowledge of codes and ordinances, construction and alarm systems. Conducts fire investigations. In addition, Fire Inspector/Investigator has completed fire inspection training and may require certification as Uniform Fire Code Inspector and /or other local licensing. Typically requires AS degree. Being a Fire Inspector/Investigator has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Working as a Fire Inspector/Investigator typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
