Chemical Plant Operations Supervisor supervises operators of chemical processing equipment and monitors the production processes to ensure efficient and safe output. Adheres to standard operating procedures (SOP) and conducts required in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Being a Chemical Plant Operations Supervisor guides and assists with troubleshooting and resolution of problems with equipment. Reviews production data logs and metrics. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operations Supervisor schedules staff and resources that will meet production targets and standards. Ensures all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements are followed. Coaches team for top performance and resolves conflicts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chemical Plant Operations Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department.
