The Drilling Crew Foreman provides proper guidance and direction to rig crew on specific tasks to be performed, enforcing safe work practices and conducting training sessions as necessary. Oversees all rig operations to ensure the operations are conducted safely and effectively and meet customer expectations. Being a Drilling Crew Foreman may require an associate's degree or its equivalent. Monitors employees' performance and progress, addressing attendance issues and making sure crew is provided with appropriate tools and supplies. In addition, Drilling Crew Foreman typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Drilling Crew Foreman manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as a Drilling Crew Foreman typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
