The User Documentation Manager develops and deploys standardized documentation methods and tools to efficiently produce high-quality content. Manages the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Being a User Documentation Manager plans and directs documentation projects and timelines. Establishes processes for effective document control. In addition, User Documentation Manager may act as final approver or editor for projects. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The User Documentation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a User Documentation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
