The Medical Director of Wound Care Services develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Being a Medical Director of Wound Care Services is responsible for the education of clinical staff. Monitors patient progress and treatment plans. In addition, Medical Director of Wound Care Services requires an advanced degree of MD. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Medical Director of Wound Care Services manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
