The Stationary Operating Engineer III ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Being a Stationary Operating Engineer III performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. In addition, Stationary Operating Engineer III requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state and EPA Universal certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Stationary Operating Engineer III works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Working as a Stationary Operating Engineer III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
