Job Description

The Procurement Supervisor maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Being a Procurement Supervisor utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. In addition, Procurement Supervisor performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Procurement Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Working as a Procurement Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
