Job Description

The Electronic Health Record End User Training Specialist determines training objectives and creates lesson plans and other materials needed for training. Conducts technical training programs for end users of EHR (electronic health record) software applications. Being an Electronic Health Record End User Training Specialist designs and delivers new hire training and ongoing user training during system changes and upgrades. Configures the training environment to ensure end-users can practice using EHR software both inside and outside of the classroom. In addition, Electronic Health Record End User Training Specialist may be responsible for implementing a credentialed trainer program that ensures EHR instructors have the required level of system knowledge to effectively deliver training. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Typically requires Epic/Cerner or similar certification. Being an Electronic Health Record End User Training Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
