Job Description

The Infection Control Supervising Nurse supervises the implementation and maintenance of infection control policies and procedures as set forth by the infection control committee. Directs nursing services activities for infection control. Being an Infection Control Supervising Nurse prepares management reports as appropriate. Ensures isolation protocols are followed and that appropriate state and county organizations are notified of any reportable diseases. In addition, Infection Control Supervising Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with current state licensure. Typically reports to top management. The Infection Control Supervising Nurse manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as an Infection Control Supervising Nurse typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
