The Application Design and Development Manager enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Manages teams and implements policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Being an Application Design and Development Manager leads feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Reviews development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. In addition, Application Design and Development Manager establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May manage outsourcing budgets, vendors, or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Application Design and Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as an Application Design and Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
