Determines potential of granting patents on inventions or trademarks, and monitors possibility of infringement. Being a Patent Agent/Attorney IV requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and may require admittance to a state bar. Prosecutes violations of organization's registrations and/or patents. In addition, Patent Agent/Attorney IV typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Being a Patent Agent/Attorney IV work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters.
