The Reinforcing Ironworker may cut, bend, and/or weld steel construction materials. Installs reinforcing steel bars, cables, or wire in order to support concrete structures. Being a Reinforcing Ironworker requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions. In addition, Reinforcing Ironworker may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Reinforcing Ironworker may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
