Job Description

The Tire Service Specialist mounts, demounts, balances and repairs commercial and other tires and wheels. Performs tire and tire-related services at the customer's location, on the road, or any other location, according to customer requirements. Being a Tire Service Specialist follows established procedures to inspect tires, wheels and vehicles before and after service, and notes other needed services; makes recommendations to customer. Organizes the work site, the vehicles and the appropriate tools and equipment for optimum job efficiency and safety. In addition, Tire Service Specialist typically requires an associate's degree or its equivalent, and appropriate TIA certification. Works under general supervision, making decisions independently while away from shop. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Working as a Tire Service Specialist typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. May be entry level if some experience in the skill.
