The Business Intelligence (BI) Director facilitates organizational data strategies for governance, design, implementation, integration and usage. Directs and oversees high level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools and applications. Being a Business Intelligence (BI) Director identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responsible for leading the design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. In addition, Business Intelligence (BI) Director ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Intelligence (BI) Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
