Purchases materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Being an Intermediate Buyer may require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information. In addition, Intermediate Buyer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being an Intermediate Buyer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
