Job Description

The Tool and Die Supervisor II supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Being a Tool and Die Supervisor II ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Completes high level tool development work. In addition, Tool and Die Supervisor II may assist engineers in development work. May require an associate's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Apprenticeship certificate. The Tool and Die Supervisor II supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
