Job Description for Head Nurse - Occupational Health

Directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Must be graduate of an accredited nursing program with current state licensure and at least 5 years of direct experience. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
