Supervises coding staff and trains employees to ensure that the hospital receives appropriate reimbursement and conforms to applicable guidelines and regulations. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of the coding process. Knowledge in ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding required. May require a bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience in a related field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management.
